A note from the director Jacqueline Carroll:

Two obsessive fans kidnap a sci-fi creator to save their beloved franchise, but their plan spirals into a dark, twisted tale of control, delusion, and deadly consequences!

Fanatical is a two act dark comedy about two obsessive fans who kidnap the creator of their favourite sci-fi franchise to stop him from ruining it further. Over time, their twisted relationship evolves into a bizarre family dynamic, leading to manipulation, betrayal, and murder. The play explores the dangers of toxic fandom and the extremes people go to in the name of art and legacy.

Why this play? It is hugely fun and full of great unexpected twists and turns. It is so entertaining and the dialogue is snappy and very funny. In times like this, we really need some fun. The story pulls you all around the place.. You think you know where it’s going and then.. Bam!

We had a blast reading it in the readers group. Satire and Dark comedy is 100% my jam, I really love acting in it and directing it.
