WORKSHOP – 30 JANUARY

Hey there (No) Drama Lovers.

The weekend is nearly over, but that means we have a new workshop to look forward to! Only two days from now, the wonderful and artistic (I mean, look at that picture!!) Emma Gingerbreadman is going to be taking the facilitators chair.

‘’Consider stillness as empty time, into which a performance can be poured’’ – Anthony Howell

This Tuesday.
‘Living the still image: Body–vs-Object’.

We will explore stillness and silence, in an attempt to be truly present. Let us embrace the void as a creative space. One which we do not look at, so much as we look from within, experiencing it through moving, listening and touching.

For our new members, the first one is on us!
Looking forward to seeing you all there!

It’s workshop time! And tonight’s workshop will be faciliated by No Drama Veteran John Fox.

After directing the farce “The Virtuous Burglar”, he decided to bring us into the world of comedy! Tonight we’ll focus on some comedy scripts and work towards perfoming these on stage.

We look forward to seeing you, Charlie Chaplins to be, there!

WORKSHOP – 16 JANUARY

Tomorrows workshop will be facilitated by our chairman, Mr. Johnny Shortalland is titled “Igniting your Creative SPARK!”

Everyone has a well of creativity in them, that they tap into on a daily basis, but how do we draw from it at will?

We will be looking at challenging your creative side, working with limitations to force you to think outside the box and learning some fundamental tools to generate scenes and ideas!

We’re looking forward to seeing you all there!

If this is your first workshop, it’s free!

Doors 6:45 | Workshop 7 pm (SHARP) | Synge Street CBS.

WOKRSHOP – 9 JANUARY

Oh yes!! We’re back! And tonight’s workshop, will be facilitated by no other than our own Head of Education; Renée van de Schoor.

Every workshop is different.
Sometimes it is all about improvisation, sometimes it is all scripted work and sometimes you are working as a collective, trying to be the scariest six-headed monster you can be.

However, no matter what you do. You are always showing us a scene. A scene with a beginning, a middle and an end.

In this workshop “Building scenes in a closed dramaturgy”,
(A what? Closed dramaturgy? No worries, all will be
explained!)
we are going to explore scenes, how these are build up and how we communicate where, who and what we are to our audience. From installing a space, to introducing a conflict.
From a closed dramaturgy to a clear beginning, middle and end.

Back to the basics, with Scene Building 101.

So please come one and all to hallowed halls of Synge Street CBS. And if you’re new, we’d like to offer you your first workhsop for free!

We’re looking forward to seeing you all there!
