This week’s workshop will be facilitated by the multi talented, Peter Hussey.
Peter will introduce some of the activities that they do in Crooked House Theatre Company. The activities are designed to create an atmosphere where we make mistakes, become comfortable with confusion, and explore possibilities for acting and devising. The activities promote a way of working that is about getting out of your head, avoiding over-thinking, and making it a bit easier to ‘commit’ to an action and activity on stage without letting self-consciousness get in your way. The way the workshop will work will be using movement-based activities (and not sitting around a table so much), discussion, and creating short scenarios.
This workshop serves as an introduction to the Certificate in Directing for Theatre that is run by Maynooth University. The certificate runs every second Saturday from September to May. Enquires to kay.loughlin@mu.ie
